What should I do if I have found a lost pet?
Check to see whether the pet is wearing a collar with an identification tag. Check for the owners contact details on the tag. If there are no contact details, please contact your local vet or warden and they will be equipped to scan the animal for a microchip.

What happens if my pet goes missing when I’m away on holiday or uncontactable?

Don’t worry! NVD® will have the details of your local emergency contact (supplied by you on registration).  If we are unable to reach you or your emergency contact, we will contact your veterinary practice who will be able to help with the reunification.

Where can I get my pet microchipped?

You can get your pet microchipped at most veterinary practices and qualified implanters. Simply enquire at your local veterinary practice.

Does NVD® share my details with any third parties?

How does my Veterinary Practice update the NVD®?

Your Veterinary Surgeon subscribes to the NVD®.  Then whenever you amend your contact details with your veterinary practice, their practice management system automatically updates to the NVD®.

How do I change the address and/or contact details for my pet?
Just contact your veterinary practice and give them your new details. An automatic process will transfer the information to NVD®.

We understand how upsetting this time can be for a pet owner, but it is helpful to have accurate records.  Once the veterinary practice records have been updated, this will automatically update the NVD®.
